Alexis Schaitkin’s novel, Elsewhere, published in 2022 by Celadon Books, was named a New York Times Editors’ Choice, an ALA Notable Book of 2023, and has been longlisted for the Carol Shields Prize. Her previous novel, Saint X (Celadon Books, 2020), was named a New York Times Notable Book of 2020 and has been translated into seven languages. The adaptation of Saint X will debut as a limited series on Hulu in April, 2023.

 Her writing has appeared in the New York Times, Ecotone, the Southern Review, Southwest Review, and elsewhere. Her fiction has been anthologized in The Best American Short Stories and The Best American Nonrequired Reading. She received her MFA in fiction from the University of Virginia, where she was a Henry Hoyns Fellow. She lives in the Berkshires with her husband and their two children.
